Summer cooling checks for Tauranga summers

Tauranga summers are hard on cooling systems. Old hoses, tired radiator caps and low coolant are the usual suspects when a car runs hot.

Before the road-trip season: check coolant level and condition (when cold), look for crusty deposits or swollen hoses, and keep an eye on the temperature gauge. If the needle creeps past normal on the hill to the Mount, get it checked.

If the temperature warning light comes on, pull over when safe, switch the engine off and call us. Driving a hot engine can cause expensive damage.
